Sit back and watch the lush Yucatán jungle pass by your window. The ~2.5h drive takes you north through Cobá and Nuevo X-Can on comfortable, paved roads.

Hammocks, Kayaks & Sandbars
Spend the afternoon at Punta Cocos — float in over-water hammocks, paddleboard across the shallow lagoon, or simply walk out 300 meters into the ocean on the sandbar.
Sunset at the Pier
Watch the sun melt into the Caribbean from the iconic Holbox pier. This is your final moment to soak it all in before boarding your private lancha back to the mainland.

One of the Top 10 wildlife encounters on Earth (National Geographic)
100% safe — whale sharks are filter feeders with no threat to humans

Whale Shark Encounter
Swim alongside the gentle giants of the sea in their natural habitat (seasonal: June–September).
Every summer, the warm waters off Holbox become one of the most important feeding grounds on Earth for whale sharks (Rhincodon typus). These gentle giants — growing up to 12 meters long — arrive in their hundreds to feed on fish eggs near the surface, and Holbox sits at the epicenter of this natural phenomenon.
What to Expect
A certified local guide spots the sharks from the boat using aerial observation. You’ll enter the water in small groups of 2, snorkel mask on, and swim alongside the shark at a respectful 3-meter distance. The experience lasts roughly 10–15 minutes per encounter and is repeated multiple times during the excursion.
Bioluminescence Night Swim
The Ocean Lights Up Around You

After dark, the shallow lagoons surrounding Holbox come alive with one of nature’s most surreal spectacles: bioluminescent plankton. Known as dinoflagellates, these microscopic organisms emit a brilliant electric-blue glow when disturbed by movement. Every stroke of your arm, every splash of your foot, creates streaks of living light in the water around you.
Ranked among the world’s best bioluminescent bays by travelers
After a short boat ride into the lagoon, your guide will cut the engine and all lights. The darkness is total — and then you’ll see it. As you slide into the water, your body becomes a paintbrush of blue-green light. Stir the water, watch it explode. Dive below, watch your trail glow. Most guests describe it as the most magical experience of their lives.
